Ninoslav Plantak
Biography

Ninoslav Plantak (Varaždin, 1978) received his first guitar education in Kutina under the guidance of teacher Zvonko Šušnjar. After returning to his hometown of Varaždin, he completed both elementary and secondary music school in the class of Moreno Vinceković, as well as the science–mathematics track at the Varaždin Gymnasium. During his schooling he gave many notable performances and won top prizes at national music competitions.
He graduated in guitar from the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb in 2005, in the class of Professor István Römer. During his studies, he participated in masterclasses held by renowned guitarists such as Zoran Dukić, John Duarte, Marco Socias, Viktor Vidović, and others.
He has been employed at the Varaždin Music School since 1999, where he teaches guitar, tambura, and chamber music at both the elementary and secondary levels, and collaborates pedagogically with other music schools in the wider Varaždin area. Over the course of his teaching career, many of his students have won significant prizes at guitar competitions and later enrolled in—and graduated from—music academies in Croatia and abroad.
From 2013 to 2020, he performed throughout Croatia as part of a guitar duo. He is a regular member of the jury at the international music competition *Mladi Padovec* in Novi Marof, and he has held numerous lectures and guitar workshops (Flying Guitar Festival Varaždin, Rotary vocational lectures, Studio Žerjav Čakovec, DND Varaždin, etc.). He is a member of the Croatian Association of Guitar Teachers and a regular participant at professional gatherings for guitar educators.
At the University North, he was appointed to the teaching rank of lecturer and, since the 2021/22 academic year, has been teaching at the Department of Music and Media.
