Josip Draginić
Biography

Josip Dragnić is Croatian guitarist, guitar teacher and music festival organizer. As a soloist and as a member of chamber music ensembles he has played concerts across Croatia and abroad (Italy, Austria, Germany, Spain, France, Denmark, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey and Bosnia & Herzegovina) in a concert halls such as Philharmonie Luxembourg, Sofia Philharmonic hall, Théâtre des Halles Avignon, La Grande Salle du Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, Concert hall Vatroslav Lisinski Zagreb, Concert hall Hrvatski dom Split, Croatian National Teather in Split and Šibenik, Mavi Salon in Ankara and festivals such as Seville Guitar Festival, Ronda Guitar Festival, Euro Chamber Music Festival Gdansk, Augsburg Guitar Festival, Lagoa Guitar Festival, Imago Festival Ljubljana, Geneva Puplinge Classics, March Music Days Rousse, Rainy Days Luxembourg and many others.
He is often a guest in various TV and radio shows at Croatian National Television and Croatian National Radio as well as a mamber of the international guitar and chamber music competition juries across Europe.
Josip received his musical education in the Music school Josip Hatze in Split, at the Academy of Arts in Split and at the Hochschule für Musik in Nürnberg (Germany). He received a master degree in guitar studyng with professors Franz Halasz and Maroje Brčić, but has also received masterclasses by guitarists such as: Costas Cotsiolis, Aniello Desiderio, Marcin Dylla, Zoran Dukić, Ricardo Gallen, Hubert Kappel, Carlo Marchione, David Russell, Pavel Steidl, Scott Tennant and Fabio Zanon. Josip has won various prizes at national and international competitions as a soloist and as a member of chamber music formations. In 2004 he graduated at Split Faculty of Science and became a professor of mathematics and informatics science.
He is a founder and organizer of the Classical Guitar Days festival in Split and founder and member of Split Guitar Quartet. Josip has been working as a guitar teacher since 2003 and his students have won highest prizes at national as well as at international competitions across Europe. Since 2013 he lives in Luxembourg and maintains very intensive pedagogical and concert activity. Josip teaches at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg.
He is also a member of Ars Nova Lux ensemble that performs music of Luxembourgish composers across Europe. Josip is artistic director of the Luxembourg Guitar Festival and Masters of Guitar Festival in Trogir (Croatia).
