Hrvoje Ton was born in 1973 in Zagreb, where he completed his primary and secondary education. In 1993, he enrolled in a classical guitar degree under professor M. Mysliveček at the University of Graz. During his studies, he participated in competitions, among which he particularly excelled in performances in Kutná Hora (Czech Republic), where he was a finalist three times.

Upon completing his studies, he got a job in Zagreb while simultaneously enrolling in a master's program under professor Carla Marchione at the Music Academy in Lovran. This was followed by new participation in competitions (Viareggio – winner in the category without age restrictions; Belgrade – 3rd prize) and an intensive concert activity. In 2011, he founded the Chamber Ensemble Laurum with which he performs throughout Croatia.

He has participated in numerous seminars with world-renowned guitarists, and as an educator, he works at the Vatroslav Lisinski Music School in Zagreb, where he and his students achieve notable results in domestic and international competitions. He is a member of judging panels and holds masterclasses as part of guitar events in Croatia.
